Consumer group hails bill to protect gig workers

THE Consumers’ Association of Penang (CAP) has praised the Gig Workers Commission (GWC) for prioritising social protection, contract disputes, and career advancement for Malaysia’s 1.16 million gig workers. However, CAP raised concerns about the challenges due to the gig economy’s unique nature and current regulatory environment.
